The rest of November is going to be pretty good for grownups who are into rock music. Bands who hit the peak of their popularity in the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s are all going to be performing in the Jacksonville area.

George Thorogood and the Destroyers

Those who are fond of the old Chess Records style of blues will be able to get a taste of that when Delaware’s George Thorogood and the Destroyers perform at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. Starting in 1974 with songs that are still used to this day in TV shows and commercials, George Thorogood and the Destroyers made a name for themselves with songs such as 1982’s “Bad to the Bone”. Thorogood got his musical education from blues greats like the members of the Muddy Waters band. The band will be performing on November 28.

Queensryche

While this band has been around since 1981, they first rose to national fame in 1990 with the success of “Silent Lucidity” a power-ballad from their album Empire that peaked at #9 on the Billboard Top 100 charts. Queensryche will be performing at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall on November 10.

Los Lonely Boys

This Chicano rock band from San Angelo, Texas got attention in Nashville in the 1990s. Then, after recording an album in 2003, they had a single from that album reach #1 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. That song was “Heaven” and it won the band a Grammy Award for Best song by a Duo or Group. Los Lonely Boys will be performing at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall on November 10^th.
